Swatch Major Series in Fort Lauderdale

At the beginning of February we came for 10 days to the beautiful Fort Lauderdale with the gorgeous beach. During these days we had the opportunity to practice a lot with many new foreign teams in special and different conditions. We got to practice in the strong wind, with the bright sun and hot weather and adjust to all of that. It was such a great chance since nowadays in Czech it's very cold and during the winter we have to practice indoor.
So it was the best preparation for the upcoming tournament Swatch Majors, because we also could practice right on the official courts couple days before the competition started. It really helped us to feel more comfortable afterwards during the "real" games. We were already familiar the field, sand, wind, etc.

Feb 7th, the Game Day! We had to play two rounds of the qualification to get in the Main Draw. In the first round we got to play against the French team. We played really well and stable, and we won clearly in two sets! (21:14 and 21:17) Afterwards we got a very strong team from Brazil, Barbara-Fernanda (Barbara is a World Champion 2016 and a silver medalist from Rio). Our match was quite a big fight, but they proved that they are more experienced. However, the game was very good, we all showed a high-quality volleyball and it helped us to learn so much! We need more experiences just like that and - who knows - next time we will see who wins :-)

Unfortunately, it was single elimination, which meant the tournament was over for us, even though we were only one match away from the Main Draw.
But! Our whole stay was such an amazing experience for us.
It's a big success that we have beaten the French team and thanks to that we have earned a lot of World Tour points. These points will be very important for the upcoming season and for the seeding in other tournaments.

To SWEET JAMES we thank once again for making this big beach volleyball experience  possible for us! :-)
